CapCut Weekly Export Limit: Why Can You Only Export 3–4 Videos a Week?

What’s Actually Happening

Multiple free users have independently reported being capped at roughly 3-4 exports per week on the free tier, distinct from CapCut’s video-length-based Pro prompt. This shows up even on projects the user has deliberately stripped of anything Pro-labeled — no premium templates, no premium effects, no premium music — which is what makes it especially confusing: the assumption is usually “if I remove all Pro content, I should be able to export freely,” but that assumption doesn’t always hold.

Why this happens even after removing visible Pro elements: it’s possible CapCut’s backend is detecting something as premium that isn’t obviously labeled as such in the interface, or — more likely based on how CapCut has structured other free-tier restrictions — the weekly export count itself is simply a baseline free-tier limit, independent of what’s in any specific project. Treat “I removed everything Pro-related and I’m still capped” as a real, reported experience, not something you’re doing wrong.

How the Limit Is Tracked

Per account, not per device. If you’re logged into the same CapCut account on your phone and a computer, exports from both count toward the same weekly total — switching devices while staying signed into the same account won’t reset or bypass the limit.

What You Can Actually Do

Try CapCut Web. Multiple reports indicate the web editor (capcut.com/editor) has not applied the same export limits as the mobile and desktop apps, at least as of when those reports were made. This isn’t guaranteed to stay true — CapCut can and does change these restrictions — but it’s the most commonly cited working alternative right now.

Try a different CapCut account, if you have a legitimate second one. Since the limit is tracked per account, a separate account has its own separate weekly allowance. This isn’t a scalable long-term solution and won’t help with continuity of projects tied to your main account, but it’s a genuine option for an occasional overflow export.

Clear cache, or log out and back in. Some export restrictions have been reported as cached locally in a way that a fresh login can sometimes reset — not guaranteed, but worth trying before assuming you’re fully stuck for the week.

Check whether reinstalling helps — but only if your work is backed up. This is a more drastic step and shouldn’t be your first move, since it risks losing local drafts if they’re not synced to the cloud first.

Accept the cap and plan around it if you’re a light user. If you’re only exporting a few videos a week anyway, this limit may not meaningfully affect you — the practical impact is concentrated among people trying to export more frequently than the free tier allows.

Subscribe to Pro if export volume is genuinely a recurring bottleneck. This is the one option that removes the restriction directly and permanently rather than working around it — worth considering if you’re hitting this limit regularly rather than occasionally.

How This Differs From the 15-Minute Length Limit

This is a genuinely separate restriction from CapCut’s per-video length cap (see our other guide on that topic). The length limit is about how long a single export can be; this weekly cap is about how many exports you can do in total, regardless of each one’s length. You can hit either limit independently of the other — a short video can still count against your weekly total, and a long video within the weekly count can still trigger the separate length-based Pro prompt.

A Word of Caution on “Workarounds” You Might See Elsewhere

Some troubleshooting content online suggests technical tricks (like converting a clip to a “compound clip” before export, or other cache-manipulation steps) to bypass this limit entirely. We can’t verify these actually work reliably or that they’re a stable long-term solution rather than something CapCut could patch at any time — treat any such trick as unverified and temporary at best, not a genuine fix.
